Roy Fox Lichtenstein was an American pop artist. During the 1960s, along with Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, and James Rehnquist among others, he became a leading figure in the new art movement. His work defined the premise of pop art through parody. Inspired by the comic strip, Lichtenstein produced precise compositions that documented while they parodied, often in a tongue-in-cheek manner. His work was influenced by popular advertising and the comic book style. He described pop art as "not 'American' painting but actually industrial painting". His paintings were exhibited at the Leo Catelli Gallery in New York City.
i painted a picture that had a lot of different patterns in the way i had to paint it.
for each color we started off light and progressively got darker in each square until we blue to the darkest square of each color.
i did a basketball for my color wheel and put a color on each space.
1. my use of elements and principals were very creative and different patterns
2. having texture is important because to show different valuse
3.values is important in this picture because it make the picture pop and stand out more.
4.my craftsmanship was good and very creative
5.me studying value and patterns helped a lot with this because it helps show values and makes it look realistic
6.when applying pen ink/ pattern it contributes a lot because it helps show value and contrast.

In this project i drew 100 different patterns in pen. many of these patterns had shapes, stripes , anything that could make patterns.
1.the process i had to use to create this painting was using masking fluid on the parts i would like to keep then painting around , then to let is dry and peel the masking fluid off. after peeling it we would just repeat the cycle.
2. some difficulties i had with this project was trying to make the same color i did the first time in the background.
3. 4 things i learned from this project is how to use masking fluid, how to mix paint, how to draw, and how to dry paint
4.what i would do differently if was to do this project again is to be more careful with masking fluid and the paint.
5.i used layers to create this piece by adding paint then letting it dry then adding more paint and doing that cycle untill i was happy with this work.
